An Evolving Story of How a Family Dream
Became a Reality
A little Background for you.
Jeff and Halee Fried have been farming for 30 years and their children are now the third generation committed to growing good food for great people. In 2016 Jeff and Halee purchased a century old farm steeped with history and deeply rooted in the agriculture community of the Okanagan Valley. Looking for ways to make the farm more viable Halee wanted to do cider and Jeff wanted to restore the heritage barn on the site, the two ideas were married and the idea of Farmstong was born. We are so pleased you have chosen to visit our site. Since the spring of 2016 Jeff and Halee along with their sons Mitchell, Avery and Griffin have been working hard to make premium craft (small batch) ciders along with restoring a heritage barn built in 1896. If you have a couple of minutes, please explore our page and we would love to hear from you. Best to you and yours—Jeff and Halee
THE FARMSTRONG CIDER COMPANY TEAM TAKES PRIDE IN SHAPING
THE FUTURE OF THE OKANAGAN VALLEY CIDER CULTURE
JEFF FRIED – Jeff looks after health and welfare of our farms. He is our logistics guy, as everything needs to make sense. He spends much time daily mentoring his boys. When he takes time away from the farm he can be found with a fishing rod or gold pan in his hand.
MITCHELL FRIED – Mitchell is the oldest of the 4 boys and he’s all things mechanical. If it’s got a motor and it runs, you can be sure he’s driving or fixing it. He excels in the farm shop maintaining all of our equipment. The poultry barns are becoming more and more of his daily responsibility while training under Jeff. When not busy farming he can be found at any and all diesel and dyno competitions.
GRIFFIN FRIED – Griffin is the youngest of the four boys. In 2016 Griffin started full time on the farm and Jeff and Mitchell are teaching him everything they know. He has proven to be a very competent class 1 driver and regularly hauls feed for the farm’s livestock. Griffin is an avid sports enthusiast and when not working on the farm he can be found working out, riding his road bike long distances or spending time with family and friends.
AVERY FRIED – Avery is second youngest of the boys, he’s the best all-around helper and works side by side with his family. He’s transitioning from the main farm to cider production as he finds great enjoyment in the orchard and he really shines on press day. When he’s not working he can be found rail fanning and filming at some train track through out BC and Alberta.
HALEE FRIED – Halee looks after administration for both farms, the cider production. tasting room and other Farmstrong events. In her free time…she doesn’t have any.

A HISTORICAL BUILDING FULL OF CHARACTER AND CHARM
The barn was built in 1896, from high-grade fir, it is a timber structure which is hand hewn and dowelled. The few nails that are in the building were hand forged before the turn of the century. THE BARN has been home to cattle, teams of horses, at one time a dairy it now houses our cidery and tasting room. We invite you for a nostalgic step back in time, welcome to THE BARN.
